Prandtl's one-equation RAS turbulence model

Hi every Foamers,

I would like to run a steady-state external aerodynamics in Atmospheric Boundary Layer, using the Prandtl's one-equation model with L the mixing length being proportional to the wall distance (something similar to wallDist(mesh_) from LES PrandtlDelta ).
But I can't find any RAS turbulence models (incompressibleRASModels, Foam user guide p.U-100) corresponding! The unique 1 equation model is Spalart-Allmaras but seems very complicated for me.

Does anybody has already implemented the Prandtl's one-equation model for RAS incompressible model ? It seems quite simple to do so. Do you know why it has not been done within OpenFOAM ?

Searching for the same,
Any luck!?

Hi,

unfortunately, no. No answers, and I did not find. I know another software, Meteodyn WT, using this kind of turbulence modelling, but I wanted to make comparisons...

Hey guys,

Actually the Prandlt model can be implemented as the oneEqEddies in LES framework. The values of the length is based on the physical of the flows. Ck = 1, Ce = 0.08.

With verification, the turbulent kinetic energy is, as expected, the variance (as in RANS) and not the tke of the subgridscale (LES)
