Modelling a non-straight bladed VAWT in OpenFOAM

Hi All,

Is it possible to model a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) which has a complicated 3-d Shape in OpenFOAM ?. By the phrase "complicated 3-d Shape", I simply mean any shape that is different from the straight bladed VAWT. Has it been tried by anybody ?. I have gone through lot of Youtube videos in which VAWT's were modelled in OpenFOAM but all of them were either that of a straight bladed VAWT or was a 2-D analysis.

If anybody has done it, is it worthwhile in terms of time and accuracy of results ?.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Abdul Akbar
