simpleFoam 2d Case RANS Issues

Greetings all,

I've been working on a simpleFoam case for about a week now. The objective is to map a velocity profile to the inlet and check the profile as it develops downstream. I'm treating this as a 2d case.

The mesh was generated using Gambit and imported to openFoam. checkMesh reveals that everything is OK (no skewness).

I've calculated k and epsilon using their respective relationships to u, u', and u'v'.

I'm importing these values and mapping them to the inlet field using timeVaryingMappedFixedValue. The values are mapped along that face and I believe openFoam should (linearly?) interpolate between them.

Unfortunately, my solution shows no signs of convergence. I've switched the solution schemes to first order but it hasn't helped at all. Running with turbulence off didn't change anything.

The divergence appears to start on the bottom wall (See image in the dropbox folder). From here it propagates downstream and grows in magnitude as the solution develops.

Is there any special treatment I need to give the Gambit export, as it's a 2d file? This should be a very simple simulation, but I can't seem to figure out the source of the problem. I've run out of ideas as to what could be going wrong, so any help would be appreciated.

The link to the file is https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uwz01qxgllmsval/4XGWNlb2V2
It's under 2dcase2.

Again, any help would be tremendously appreciated. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here.
Thanks,
Matt
