Torque driven rotor simulation

Hi everybody,

Does someone know if it is possible to make a simulation of a rotor in OpenFOAM by fixing the torque instead of the rotation speed?

The simulation would have to take into account drag forces exerced by the flow on the rotor in order to increase or decrease the speed of the rotor.

The goald is to find a stable point and output the rotation speed.

Its not present in the current code.

But you could just do a couple of fixed rpm simulations and find the peak value where the torque is the highest.

It wont necessarily give you what you want but it should be pretty close.

Dear Niels,

Unfortunately it is not really what I want. In my case, I am not looking for a maximum torque.
The situation is that I have an asynchronous electrical motor which is able to give a certain power to my rotor. With this power, I want to be able to find the speed at which the rotor will rotate.

I might have to implement something on my own to do such a thing, but I'm not sure where to start.
