Hi,

I am relatively new to openFOAM.
I Want to setup a test case... temperature gradient driven cavity flow.

I am confused as to which solver to be used.
Is chtMultiRegionFoam a good choice to simulate this problem?

Also how to go about setting up this case? Are there any tutorials available?
I couldn't find any on my own. Any help would really be appreciated.

akidess will become famous soon enough
Use buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam and set boundary conditions accordingly.

Hi Nischal,

I am trying the same too. Have you been successful in implementing it? I know its an old thread but it shall be really helpful if you reply.

it doesn't need to be implemented. It is already implemented in openFOAM.

All you have got to do is to use cavity mesh and set correct boundary conditions.

If you are not able to setup one, give me some more detailed information to help you setup your case.

Best,
Mojtaba

Hi all,

I've modified the cavity case into a liquid bridge with free surfaces on top and the bottom and side walls. I want to observe buoyancy driven flow between the two free surfaces.

I'm having doubts with the bc's for p_rgh and U for this modified case. What should be the correct bc's in these conditions?

Thanks in advance!
