Problems running laminarSmoke
 
I just installed laminarSmoke 0.15 with Radau5 ODE solver and tried to run the provided tutorial. I've got some memory allocation error -- did anyone experience this? Is this related to the laminarSmoke itself or the underlying libraries? I wonder where to start digging. I haven't tried the other ODE solvers yet.

OF version=2.2.0, OS=Debian 7.0 (as if this matters).

The common detail is that there is either one of the following two scenarios:
  • There are two libraries with different names that are using the same object names.
  • Or an incompatibility between GCC versions.
And in both scenarios, the errors occurred with custom made solvers and/or libraries that the users made themselves.

Now, the problem is that laminarSmoke was created by someone else and not yourself. This raises a whole other level of hypothesis, but the most likely reason is that although they wrote about "OpenFOAM 2.x", they were only talking about OpenFOAM 2.0 and 2.1, not OpenFOAM 2.2.


Therefore, my suggestion is that you try with OpenFOAM 2.1.1 and/or 2.0.1, to check if laminarSmoke works with either one of them.
Personaly I can't test this any time soon, specially given that this new solver needs a whole other level of complexity, when compared to "libOpenSMOKE" :(
