Centrifugal separator simulation
Hi all,
I am currently working on my Master's thesis on a Centrifugal Separator (vertical disk-stack type); I would like to do a qualitative analysis of the behaviour of a two-phase flow within the rotation bowl of the machine. I am totally new to CFD and OpenFOAM, and I would like to start maybe with a 2D model and then, if possible, try to do something in 3D. After taking a first look a the User's Guide, I believe there are some solvers which might be appropriate (interFoam, LTSInterFoam, settlingFoam, etc.). Does anyone have any suggestion, hint, tip, advice on where I could start my work? Best regards, Ricardo |
Hi
Look at the tutorials. You could also try and contact this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J9d6mvlIDo He has done some multiphase simulations with OF that looks quite nice. https://sites.google.com/site/kwardleweb/ |
Hei,
Thank you very much for the hint. I will look into it. Best regards |
