simulation time

Hi everyone,

Anybody knows how can compute the simulation time in OpenFOAM? I mean the time (hours) that the simulation is running. I want to know how much time does it takes for different mesh resolution.

Thanks in advance!

Run a representative sample, then extrapolate.

Thanks for your answer, but I guess that there will be some commands in OF or even Linux (Ubuntu in my case) which register when the simulation starts (for example start=19:05) and ends (10:33), so I can compute how long the simulation takes.

Typically OpenFOAM solvers print clock time and CPU time. Linux has a "time" command: http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man7/time.7.html

Oh thanks Anton,

I realized that at the end of every iteration in the log file itīs detailed execution time and clock time!

Sorry for that stupid question and thanks for being patient!;)
