modeling a turbulent flow over an obstacle using OpenFOAM

Hello foamers

I am trying to run my first turbulent case using OpenFOAM. However I have a few problems with pressure equation.

I have simulated the same case with fluent without any problems and pressure values are reasonable.

Now I want to run the same case with OpenFOAM. here is the details about the case:

- geometry: a channel consisting an obstacle

- inlet: velocityInlet

- outlet: pressureOutlet

I have also attached the case.

The main problem is very wrong calculation of pressure equation at beginning of the simulation, as you can see in the attachment. As you can see pressure values are very high. However, the final result (steady state solution) is in well agreement with fluent.

I have already checked other test cases of OpenFOAM and those cases do not have the same problem. Also fluent does not have this problem. So I am guessing that something is wrong with my case setup.

any help would be appreciated.

regards

you can download the case here: http://www.rodfile.com/3rv10ek2pkb4

I have tried to simulate the case in laminar regime, but the problem is still there.

As long as the steady-state final results are good I don't see any problems. The one you posted is not converged yet right?
