I'm trying to simulate a buoyancy-driven flow in a box using rhoPimpleFoam. It isn't reading the "g" gravity file, and the results are clearly that of simple diffusion; e.g. it is ignoring all gravitational effects. Is there some place in the inputs to get rhoPimpleFoam to apply gravity/buoyancy effects?

Hi,

Please look at the solver in combustion rhoReactingBuoyantFoam. From the differences in rhoReactingFoam and rhoReactingBuoyantFoam , you can figure out how to add gravity to rhoPimpleFoam. Just look at the pEqn.H File and CreateFields.H file.

Alos have a look at this wiki where gravity is handled :

http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Bu...sinesqPisoFoam

Cheers

Can some one give more information about this on OpenFoam-6?

Hi,
maybeyou're interested in buoyantPimpleFoam. Take a look into its UEqn.

Hi,

I am new to OpenFoam programming. As I understand the rhopimpleFoam is based upon 'p' while, buoyantpimpleFoam is based on p_rgh. Can you tell me more details how to add the effects of gravity in the ehopimpleFoam solver. I see p_rgh used extensively in the UEqn and PEqn for bouyantpimpleFoam solver.
