Hello all
I am working on the problem of Natural Convection as a part of my PhD. I am using Openfoam 2.2 and using buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam as a solver. I want to give time varying fixedGradient as a boundary condition in T file in 0 directory. Previously i used timevaryingUniformFixedValue successfully in Openfoam 1.6 but there is no such boundary condition available in Openfoam 2.2. I had gone through the several posts available in Openforum. I tried by giving my time varying fixed gradient data in the form of table in T directory itself but it doesn't work. Please help.[/FONT] |

if you want not to coding, you can easily use third party swak4Foam (groovyBC utility)

Thanks Nimasam for a quick reply.
I have seen utility of groovyBC as u said but what i learnt from that it's required time dependent expression of gradient. There is no option of reading a file having values containing time and gradient. I have a separate file containing time and gradient values. I am enclosing that file. Please have a look. Hi Nimasam
Thanks for your reply. I downloaded, Swak4Foam and tried to install it by using wmake all. I also did appropriate changes in the control dict file but when i run my case, an error is coming that this groovyBC boundary condition is not existing. Am i not installing it correctly? |

Hi Nitin,
I am also having the same issue as yours. I have time and gradient values as a data file and am looking to use a timeVaryingFixedGradientValue type of boundary condition. However in my case, I'm worried about the linear interpolation of time values between two data entries since the variation in my case is far from linear. Have you been able to find a way to solve this issue?
