Analysis of Golf Ball ... Spherical Domain : Inlet Outlet touching

Hello People

I started with analysis of self modelled Golf ball to understand some of the concepts of CFD analysis. I have a few questions regarding the geometry and setup I have

STEUP:

I am planning to use a spherical domain in which the golf ball stands in the center.
One half of the sphere's surface will be my velocity Inlet(10m/s) and other Half will be pressure Outlet. The simulation is a transient with time step of 1e-3.

Mesh has a few Orthogonal elements with some 68. and no skew elements.

QUESTIONS

Initially I see a very high velocity at the place where the inlet half surface and outlet half surface meet. Is this setup even physical. I mean, can we have such a domain and problem setup ... ?

Also as the simulation advances the high velocity at the meeting line of inlet outlet decreases and the whole simulation appears to be stable before it gives a floating point error and crashes ... !!

Any Suggestions and explanations will be highly helpful.

Thanks in advance.
