Hello everyone,
I'm working on my master's project to analyze hemolysis in centrifugal blood pump (VADS).

I have to analyze the blood damage occured during the process using openfoam. I am new to working on rotating parts as well as to openfoam. I have worked on other commercial softwares though. I know using openfoam is difficult than other commercial softwares but I would like to get familiar with it as it will enable me develop myself in the area of CFD.

At this stage I have completed generating a structured conformal mesh by meshing the geometry as a whole.

I have few queries on how to approach this problem.

1. It is about the interface. I understand that for using sliding mesh model or MRF I need to define an interface. How do I create it (do I need to create in the grid generator itself) and about the positioning of the interface from the rotating part. Does the positioning have any significance on the solution.

2. Can anyone assist me on how do I approach solving blood damage in blood pump. Though not completely but few tips regarding methodology would be helpful.

I am a bit of a novice with CFD so please pardon my ignorance and feel free to ask any additional information.

Thank you.

i too am working on the same title....have you solved the same..??

i need some light on the cell zone conditions and the tips for MRF...

i have only the geometry of the impeller disc involved in this problem..

Thank you for any help
