icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam stick particles
Hi everybody,
I'm using icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam to compute water droplets impingement above planes. My problem is that the output file named "position", which as far as I know tells you the label of the cell where the particle hit the wall, says that the droplet is in a cell which doesn't have a face that belongs to a wall. In other word many droplets hit the wall but they're not in a cell near it. How is it possible? I tried to change mesh and change the integration time step in the controldict dictionary but nothing worth it. CheckMesh anyway is OK, if I run with -allGeometry Face Tets is OK but I get 1 fail due to small determinant. the geometry is an half-wing in a test tunnel and the solver is running with a stick condition for the particles Giulio |
Maybe someone knows how "stick" condition is verified by the solver?
I always though that a "stick" particle is an element which hit a wall, but could it mean that the particle is trapped in a cell, with no possibility of escaping from there? (maybe a cell with velocity magnitude equal to 0, in which the particles gets into with a very low speed) In this latter case the solution of my problem could be found by looking at the wall function I'm using. I searched on many threads but I couldn't find an answer for this. Giulio |
