floatingObject in 2D

Hi,
I am trying to model a floating object in 2D and 3D. In 3D everything is fine but in 2D my object sinks almost immediately. I noticed that in 2D my volume is obviously much smaller and if I scale down my mass to be consistent, then everything is fine but then the system would be different than the 3D system (my case is connected to spring-damper), and I need to also modify the moment of inertia.

I did a test and increased the length of my domain in the 3rd dimension but keeping only one cell in that direction. Now the forces are correct and the system is floating but the mesh aspect ration is not good.

guys, any advice on how to set the parameters correctly is highly appreciated.

Hello Ashkan,

I am trying to model a 2D floating object. I made changes to the floating object tutorial, but the object sinks and the simulation blows. Were you able to get a working case for the 2D floating object? If yes your guidance will be appreciated. Thanks.
