Hi there
out of interest has anyone conducted a themo-fluid analysis of a human body, (manikin) in a building environment as a means of evaluating thermal comfort - if so what solver did you use in openFoam for bouyancy driven flow?
kind regards
g

I didn't do that before but I think buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam could be a proper solver for this purpose.

Look at the post

Natural ventilation in a room with window from 27th June 2014, i.e.

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...m-windows.html

and especially the posted test case from Thomas Tian.
There you find a similar tutorial like the simulation your wat to run.
This uses buoyantBoussinesqSimplefoam as solver,

Thank you for the response guys:

attached is a picture of the model and domain, I have divided the boundary patches into torso, head, left arm, left forearm, left thigh, left leg and left foot (the same for the right) - in order to assign thermal boundary conditions for each in order to develop a better understanding into thermal comfort.

I am having difficulty getting access to the boussinesq tutorial from the natural ventilation in a room thread - I am relatively new to open source software and would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
I have yet to mesh the model and export to openfoam but am having problems with engrid also

kind regards
g
