Problem With patchFlowRateInjection in OFv2.3.0

3 Attachment(s)
Hello All,

I compiled a new solver based on pimpleFoam and icoUncoupledKinematicParcelFoam to compute the evolution of lagrangian particles in a transient analysis. I am attaching the source code for it for reference.

I have run it successfully with patchInjection, manualInjection and kinematicLookupTableInjection models. However when i try to run it with patchFlowRateInjection, the computation starts up but it freezes just on the timestep where the first parcels are injected. I have tried this on two different systems (one with 4 and one with 15 processors) and given it sufficient time hoping the computation will advance but it does'nt. (see errorlog file)

There is a strong possibility that i am not defining the patchFlowRateInjection model correctly (my first time using this model). But i figured the computation would not have started and given an error in that case. I am attaching the kinematicCloudProperties file too for this to be checked.

I need to inject 18000 particles spread over 1.8 sec such that the injection of particles at any time is proportional to carrier volumetric flow rate at that time and their velocity equal to inlet carrier velocity.

Can anyone please look into this freezing matter? Any suggestions on defining the injection models are also appreciated.

Thank You very much.

Nadish

Can anyone please help me with this? I would appreciate.

Hello,
can you try it without the collision model please?

Hello Thomas,

I was in a it of a hurry with this computation so instead i defined several ManualInjection models (injection every 0.5 sec) generated by a MATLAB code to account for the particles being injected proportional to flow rate. I still dont know whats the problem with patchFlowRateInjection, maybe a bug. I had not defined any collision model in the first place. (Check kinematicCloudProperties.txt file)
