compressible turbulent flow

Hi everybody,

I want to simulate a weakly compressible turbulent flow with water as liquid.
As I investigated the sonicliquidfoam solver is applicable for laminar transient transonic and supersonic liquid flow that uses the relation between pressure and density, I have used it for my laminar case and I got a very good results. But I do not know which solvers is applicable for turbulent transient transonic liquid flows. would you please help me with my problem.

Many thanks,
Simin

Greetings Simin,

It seems that OpenFOAM does not have explicitly such a solver. The solvers that I can find which might suit your needs are:
  • rhoCentralFoam
  • rhopSonicFoam - this solver was removed in OpenFOAM 1.7.1, but it's still present in foam-extend 3.1. Try looking here in the forum for more information about this solver, since there might be a strong reason why this solver was dropped in OpenFOAM.
And it's best that you have a good validation case to check if any of these solvers work for you! Because it's possible that you might need to either implement a new solver or apply some corrections to one of these solvers.

Good luck! Best regards,
Bruno
