MRF- rotor zone extended beyond the boundary wall
2 Attachment(s)
Hi foamers,
I'm trying to simulate the flow in a mixing tank. When I try to specify the rotor zone for rotating frame, I had some questions about its boundary. My impeller is really close the outer wall, as you can see it in the attached image. So my question is: can I assign the rotor zone extended beyond the outer wall, like the red box in the first image; or do I have to assign a smaller zone, like the red box in the second image? Thanks in advance! |
DearLitao,
for my wind turbine rotor blade it worked to choose the rotationg zone too big, so that it exceeds the meshed space. Best regards Julian |
Hi ,
Assign a smaller rotor as shown in the second image and i think it should work |
Hello,
As said in previous post you can smaller rotating zone or otherwise if you want to use bigger zone you can try to use non-rotating patch specification in MRF zone. Regards, -Yogesh |
Thank you all.
I'm now using the smaller rotating zone, I think it works fine. :) |
