CAELinux vs Ubuntu Virtual Machines

I ran two identical interFoam cases on virtual machines. One was on CAELinux 2013 (OpenFOAM 2.1) and the other was on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (OpenFOAM 2.3). The CAELinux case solved about 15% faster than the Ubuntu. Both virtual machines were set up with the same memory, processor capacity , etc... settings.
Anybody have any idea why there is efficiency gained on CAELinux? |

Interesting. Could it be the difference between OF21 to OF23, or the fact that OF was compiled specifically for the CAElinux OS (some Ubuntu I am guessing)

I have installed OF 2.3 on CAELinux. I'll run it and see how it compares to 2.3 on Ubuntu.
