Free Flow Boundary Condition

Hi,

I am using the shallowWaterFoam solver to study height and speed variation of the water at different depth levels. As for the example case given in the OpenFOAM installation the boundary condition at the outLet is set as "zeroGradient" for U(Velocity) and hTotal(Height).

Does this boundary condition mean that the Water Waves reaching this (outLet) boundary bounces back into the same simulation area adding to the Velocity and hTotal at the grid cells within???

Or else is the fluid flow that reaches the boundary is freely flowing outside of it without any reflected waves?

I am looking for at a case of the second type where all the water waves that reach the end ("outLet") are freely flowing outside of the simulation area without bouncing back in.

How do I set the boundary condition for this? I see that the sides of this case are set to a boundary condition called "slip". Should I use this???

Please Help!!!!
