Using wallheatflux to calculate heat fluxes on cylinder
 

Hi everyone

I am trying to simulate a 2D hypersonic flow around cylinder (using rhoCentralFoam) based on the experimental data presented in “STUDIES OF AEROTHERMAL LOADS GENERATED IN REGIONS OF SHOCK/SHOCK INTERACTION IN HYPERSONIC FLOW” paper (Run 40).
Although excellent agreement with experimental data in terms of wall pressure was obtained, the wall heat flux values (calculated using wallheatflux utility) turned out to be 1.5 times smaller. This is a large error considering the fact that the boundary layer was laminar in the experiment.

Anybody had similar problems with wallheatflux?

Calorically perfect air with viscosity described by Sutherland's law and Pr=0.72 was used.
