Dear all,

I want to simulate droplet evaporation on a hot surface with temperature dependable surface tension coefficient . I have also to change the vapour pressure in the surrounding air to the droplet in every case to evaluate it's effect. The droplet resting on a heated surface (it's temperature ranges between 30 to 60 C). Please, any one here have any idea if there is a solver to solve my cases in OpenFOAM and which one.

As you can see my problem is very complex and comprises all aspects of CFD:

1) Multiphase flow with heat transfer and temperature dependable surface tension.
2) Phase change from water to vapour.
3) Mass transfer between air and vapour.
4) Evaporative cooling of the liquid-gas interface due to the released latent heat of evaporation.
5) Vapour partial pressure effect on the evaporation process.

Thank you and best regards,
Sayed

Dear
There is no solver for this simulation, and you should code it yourself,
I suggest that read and simulate with compressibleInterFoam and interPhaseChangeFoam

Hi,

I think the thesis of Kunkelmann http://tuprints.ulb.tu-darmstadt.de/...Kunkelmann.pdf on boiling droplet is a very good reference for you. I believe that he used interDyFoam to simulate the process.

Hi
you can use interThermalPhaseChangeFoam solver.
