Hi everyone,

I noticed an strange behaviour at the inlet of my domain when a combination of

totalPressure(p)+pressureInletOutletVelocity(U)-----inlet
and
fixedValue(p)+inletOultet(U)------- outlet.

I want to impose pressure in both inlet and outlet patches. Simulation converges using both simpleFoam and rhoSimpleFoam, but when I look at the results I see a strange behaviour of pressure, velocity and wall shear stress fields. Please have a look at the attachments (this is not the best snapped mesh, but this behaviour is always observed, no matter the mesh quality, size or smoothness, so I guess mesh is not the problem here)

Anybody could give me any hint? Mesh is obtained using blockMesh+snappyHexMesh and surfaceCheck utility shows a good mesh stl quality.

I think this should be related with boundary conditions for a pressure driven flow, but I cannot figure out what is happening. I suppose pressure should be uniform at the inlet and velocity profile should vary in the inlet plane.

This fact for example leads to a wrong magnitude and location of maximun wall shear stress, which is very important in my results.

Thanks in advance,

CRI
