FWST is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone

I am new in OpenFOAM and I have question concerning the sprayFoam solver.
My case setup is a little variation of the aachenBomb tutorial, but this isn't my actual problem.
I ran my first simulation on OpenFoam 2.3 and everything worked out fine. Running the same simulation on OpenFoam 2.2 lead to an error message. I found out that OpenFoam 2.2 needed in the sprayCloudproperties the constantProperties: youngsmodulus, poissonsRatio, epsilon0, f0, Pr, Tvap, Tbp. Those constants aren’t needed with OpenFoam 2.3.
I took the values from the aachenBomb tutorial and the simulation finally worked with OpenFoam 2.2 as well.
Can somebody tell me what those constants are standing for, and why they aren’t needed anymore with OpenFoam 2.3?
As I said, I am new with OpenFoam and with this forum as well. If there are some behaving rules, that I just broke, just tell me
Greetings Felix

Well, they are not there anymore because they were either not used at all or used incorrectly (e.g. Pr, Tvap, Tbp) in OpenFOAM 2.2.
To what they stand for, in case you are really interested, they are documented in the source code, e.g.:
https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...cParcel.H#L103
https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...ngParcel.H#L83

Generally I can just recommend you to use OpenFOAM 2.3.x for spray simulation. Actually the last bugs (e.g. concerning the KHRT breakup model) got fixed after the release of 2.3.1, so you need the latest git version for that.
