Hi Everyone,

I'm looking into OF as an alternative to Fluent, which I use at the moment.

My case is a liquid-solid expanded bed (eg homogenous fluidized bed) with a rotatiing sparger at the bottom from where liquid enters the multiphase domain.

In Fluent I used a single rotating reference frame with an eulerian multiphase solver. Rotation speeds are < 30 rpm.

I've been looking around and I think this can be done via fvoptions. Does one of you have experience (good or bad) with this approach?

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

Victor

Hi Victor! I am interested in your simulation with rotating fluid with srf. Did you find the solution for your case? Did you manage to rotate the fluid with srf? How srf differs compared to mrf?

Hi Farahiam,

I have not pursued this option further, for the moment I'm focusing more on the multiphase aspect.

Once that's done I'll return to the SRF.

Regards,

Victor

Hello,

i need to implement reference frame with multiphase flow for my master thesis and I would like to ask if you have found a solution for your problem. Obviously it has been a while but maybe you are still on the forum

Thanks,
Ayca
