Cyclic boundary conditions using interFoam

1 Attachment(s)
Hi fellow CFDers,

I am simulating a surface vortex flow in a circular tank. The outlet is a tube in the middle of the tank bottom while the inlet happens through 4 pipes arranged in 45° angles in each quarter of the tank top.
So far I have been doing single phase simulations to get started and to save cells I have modelled only a quarter of the tank using cyclic boundary conditions. Now my next step is to go multiphase and solve the flow problem with interFoam. Please take a look at my very simple drawing to visualize the basic setup.

My research in this forum has made me realize that interFoam has problems with with periodic/cyclic boundaries due to pressure jumps between boarders (compare here: interfoam cyclic boundary condition issue ).

I am not quite sure, but in my opinion this issue is not relevant in the case at hand. Is there anybody who has experience using cyclic boundary conditions in combination with the interFoam solver? I would greatly appreciate any advice, comments or critics concerning my case! :)

Best wishes,
Max
