Symmetry and Empty BC

Hi Foamers,

I have a question about symmetry in OF.

Let's imagine a case with two identical air jets blowing along one axis and in opposite direction.

---> <---

There is a symmetry plane on this little drawing. Can I only mesh the left half of it and use an empty BC for the symmetry plane? Or maybe if I do so the simulation won't suceed?

My geometry is more complex and I'd like to simplify it but I have air jets blowing in every directions...

Thanks for helping.

Use the symmetryPlane BC

Ok thanks!

If I have this drawing (with --> being an air jet)

<-- --> <-- --> <-- --> <-- --> <-- -->

Let's say I only represent:

<-- -->

with two symmetry planes, one on each side. Should I have two groups : leftSide and rightSide, each group with the BC "symmetryPlane" or can I have only one group with the two sides in it and one BC?

Thanks!
