Pressure high peak at inlet

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all!!

I´m currently trying to solve a 2D domain, which consists of a pipe with some profiles inside of it, as it is shown in the image: https://picasaweb.google.com/1057482...ptember8201502

The top and botton boundaries are walls. The BC for the inlet are freestream ( 0.011 0 0 ) for U and freestreamPressure for p. For the outlet BC zeroGradient has been imposed for both p und U.

I´m using simpleFoam solver.

When I look at pressure contours in paraview, I realize that at the upper and bottom edges of the inlet, there is a peak in pressure. I don´t see very well why this is happening; I have tried some other BC for the inlet but same result arises.

I am quite new, so any clue or possible reason to explain why this happens would be more than welcome :)

The pressure peak can be seen in image https://picasaweb.google.com/1057482...44237021862418

Thanks in advance!

This might be cause be the constant value on the inlet boundary condition for U which conflicts with the wall layer. Perhaps you could try the fixedMeanFvPatchField boundary condition: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...FvPatchField.H
