Dear Sir,
I am using porousSimpleFoam solver in OpenFOAM. Are there criteria that d can be set to 0 or that f can be set to 0? And are there criteria that d (viscous) is dominant or that f (inertia) is dominant? ![]() I calculated Re number by the equation: Re=u*dp/ν=u/ν*K^0.5 (u:flow velocity, dp:diameter of the packed particles, ν:kinetic viscosity, K:permeability=dp^2*ε^3/(180*(1-ε)^2), ε:porosity), and the result Re was less than 100 (about 55), so I judged that d is dominant and set f to 0. However, when I calculated tentatively not setting f to non-zero value, I obtained the different result (differenct pressure distribution). ![]() Is the above judgement correct? Which may I trust the result, f=0 or f≠0? Here, I calculated d and f by the following equation, respectively: d=150/dp^2*(1-ε)^2/ε^3 f=3.5*(1-ε)/dp/ε^3. I am lookking forward to your comment. ![]() ![]() ![]() KeiJun |

Dear Antimony,
Thank you for your reply. I have already taken a look at the link, but I think this material isn't written about my questions in. ![]() I would appriciate it you would answer my questions in plain language. ![]() KeiJun |
