Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of running vectorSnapshots or scalarSnapshots in parallel using foam-extend-3.1?

I have a large LES case (>50m cells) that I would like to analyse using POD. Being so large I would like to run the POD snapshot utilities in parallel, so I am testing on the pitzDaily test case to begin with. The utilities run in parallel without incident using

Code:
mpirun -np $SLOTS vectorSnapshots -parallel
However when you look in the first time step in the various processor directories, there are several POD modes for processor 0 whilst all the others have only 1 mode (Surely there should be the same number of modes in each). So I can only visualise the first mode in paraview (which doesn't seem continuous across processor sub-meshes).

This is making me think that perhaps the utilities are calculating the POD modes in each independent processor mesh rather than for the entire parallel domain? It works fine in serial

Hey.

Did you able to solve your problem?
Can you guide me how to run POD solver for fluid flow problem using foam extend?
