Dear OpenFOAM Community,

I am new OpenFoam user and It is my first post here however not the first visit. So thanks a lot for the help so far.
Now I am faced with a problem that I would like to share with you to hopefully get some help.
It is about let’s say two domains that are placed and slide on each other. While one domain is moving the cells that are not covered by the static domain must change their BC from interface to wall and that’s the point where I stack and do not know how to set up.
Using the same set up as in mixerVesselAMI (OF 2.4) tutorial my simulation stops after few iterations due to movement of “static” nodes at corners of the common interface. This nodes need a slip condition and should not fix on the sliding face.
Do you guys have any idea how to overcome this problem?
Thanks in advance. Regards
Wheinbi

1 - Probably nodes at the "corners" are common for moving and non-moving part of mesh – review your mesh before you export it to OpenFOAM.
2 – In my opinion cyclicAMI BC is not appropriate for your problem-all faces from one AMI patch have to be covered by faces from second patch – simulation will crash when first full uncovered face will appear. Try cyclicACMI http://www.openfoam.org/version2.3.0/ami.php

Hello dybuk,

thank you very much, that is exactly what I was looking for. I will try it for my case and give some Feedback after that.
