Hello all,

I'm pretty new to the realm of LES in openfoam. So, I have couple of questions regarding the simulation that I intend to do.

I want to have a turbulent power-law inlet velocity as my inlet. I have tried couple of methods including the powerLawTurbulentVelocity method developed in Chalmers University. Theoretical issues with this BC aside, it only runs for serial simulation and when I run in parallel I cannot run reconstructedPar. I tried to fix the code but unfortunately somewhere in the code it cannot recognize the number of faces that each processor has from the inlet boundary. And, No, none of the solutions suggested in this forum worked for that. Also I have tried to work with LEMOS inflow generator but again I couldn't install it right and couldn't run it. I have OpenFOAM2.4 installed. Any input in proper installation and compilations of that library would be greatly appreciated.

My other question refers to this fact that what if I generate an internal field for the velocity at initial condition with just superimposing random numbers around mean power-law velocity and then let it run for like 5 revolution. Would this be an appropriate way to generate eddies inside the domain. Given that I use the outlet values as input for the inlet in next timesteps. I guess this can be done with mappedPatch type, correct me if I am wrong please. If one uses this method would there be any spatial and temporal correlations between the results of the velocity filed after say 5 revolution of the flow inside the channel?

I know, this post has gotten very long but really need your help guys.

Thanks a lot for your time, beforehand!

Hello Ali,
Have you successfully install lemos in openfoam?
I use openFoam2.3.0. Is LEMOS only available in openFoam2.3.x or 2.4.x?
Thank you.
