Unsteady field advected by steady velocity field

Dear all,

I want to solve the time-dependent advection-diffusion equation of a concentration that is advected by a velocity field which is the steady-state solution of a creeping flow problem. I need to solve both for the steady-state velocity field and the time-dependent concentration field, but I am not sure what is the best strategy to do that using OpenFOAM.

One approach would be to solve a single time-dependent problem involving both fields, as if both were unsteady. However, I guess that solving first for the velocity and then for the concentration would be computationally more efficient that recomputing the steady-state velocity field at every timestep.

Could you please share you thoughts on it?

Thank you for your attention.

Compute velocity field with simpleFoam, concentration transport with scalarTransportFoam.

Thank you, Anton. It worked.
