Dear Foamers,
I'm new to openFOAM and not so professional in reading library codes. I am simulating fluid flow in microchannel. I want to use partialSlip boundary condition. I know that valueFraction=1 is no slip and valueFraction=0 is slip condition and the equation is probably something like: (valueFraction)U=(1-valueFraction)dU. In this case slip length will be (1-valueFraction)/(valueFraction) as the relationship for partial slip condition is U=(slipLength)*dU But the problem is if I have a slip length of 2 micrometer, then what will be the valueFraction? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance hoseinhd |

hello hoseinhd,
I have no Idea, but based on the math and the SI units it probably is valueFraction = 1/(slip length +1)=1/(2E-6+1). but I have no idea, but maybe it helps, Wouter |

Thanks Wouter for your quick reply
But in most cases the amount of slip length is in the order of micrometer, so the valueFraction will be very close to 1 (no difference with no-slip condition). For example in my case it will be 0.999998 !! I have attached the source code for partialSlip boundary condition. It would be great if someone help me go through it. |
