baffles pressure difference

2 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I'm trying to create two areas with different pressures that are separated by a baffle. I set the boundary condition for pressure at the baffle to zeroGradient, but when I look at it in paraview I get a steep gradient in pressure over the baffle as in the first picture. I want to use the baffle so I can simulate heat transfer using thermalbaffles1D.

If I mesh the two areas separately and then use mergeMesh, the pressure looks as I expect it to look (second picture).

The pressure boundary condition is the same for both cases and the patch is defined as wall in the boundary file for both cases.

Does anyone know why I get the different behaviour?
I appreciate any help,

Caro
