pisoFoam

hi friends
I cant find "pisoFoam" solver in my openFaom solvers. as I found out by study the user guide manual , this solver is in "incompressible" solvers . so where is that?!? or should I add this solver to my openFoam ?

Hi,

You can find pisoFoam located in the following directory:
.
├── Allwmake
├── COPYING
├── README.html
├── README.org
├── applications──solvers──incompressible──pisoFoam
├── bin
├── doc
├── etc
├── platforms
├── src
├── tutorials
└── wmake

Hope this helps,
Fumiya

Hi friend !
believe me that my openfoam version doesn't have "pisoFoam" ! I checked
usr/lib/openFoamdev/applications/solvers/incompressible
and I saw that there is no pisoFoam there!
so I have source code of openfoam independently . is there any way to add pisofoam's folder from source code to my openfoam? I should tell u I have openFoam via VMware . and I enabled transferring data between windows and virtual kubuntu. i tied this job using copy and paste! but paste option is not allowed in folder of solvers when I am reaching there by root.

Hi,

Could you tell me
  • which version of OpenFOAM you use?
  • where you downloaded the source code from?

Best regards,
Fumiya

Hi!
I bought a book to learn OpenFoam and a DVD attached to the book and it contains a VMware with openFoam that preinstalled on it and that is "openFoam -1.5-dev" version . all things that I knew !
thanks for regard

Hi,

I think there is transientSimpleFoam in OpenFOAM-1.5-dev and it is transient solver for incompressible fluid as with pisoFoam.

You can find the source code of pisoFoam in the OpenFOAM-1.6-ext, the successor version of OpenFOAM-1.5-dev:
https://github.com/Unofficial-Extend...sible/pisoFoam

If you want to install pisoFoam, you need to download the source code and compile it.
You might have to modify the source code for compilation.

Best regards,
Fumiya

Hi sinathmooresi,
Thanks.
It is interesting to know that there is a book in Persian that teaches OpenFOAM. I am from Brazil and as far as I know there is no similar book in portuguese.
Best Regards,
Paulo
