First, I have to mention that I started a few weeks ago with OpenFOAM, so I'm not an expert in OpenFOAM. In order to be able to evaluate HVAC processes in a room, including humidity and heat transfer, I downloaded the massBuoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam solver (see: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Co...nesqSimpleFoam). To be able to run the tutorial of this solver in OpenFOAM 2.3.1, I adapted the following boundary conditions for group ".*" :
- For kappat: alphatJayatillekeWallFunction instead of kappatJayatillekeWallFunction;
- For p_rgh: zeroGradient instead of buoyantPressure;

Now, the solver runs without problems, but does not converge. Can somebody help me with this problem? For detailed information about the solving process, I attached the log file.

Thanks in advance!

These types of calculation suffer from convergence issues because velocity pressure coupling could be weak.

Try refining the mesh because so far experience says that this seems to help.

Thanks for your reply, I will refine the mesh and try the solver again!

I refined the mesh. However, the solver is still not converging .
Can anybody help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi I was wondering if you had any success with the current solver.

I am planning to use it myself for assessing humidity in interior spaces. I am not sure how it performs and how it's method can be considered proper.

I was also wondering if anyone has been able to compile this for OpenFoam 3.0.1.

Thanks in advance!

Tellur.
