I'm making a school project about numerical model of wave flume in our lab.I'm using IHFoam which is installed on top of OpenFoam 2.4.0. It's pretty basic, waves are identical with 7cm of height with 0.9s period and depth is 0.5m. Wave flume has a perforated wall with 50% porosity which is 7m away and a blank wall after that which is 0.15m away from the perforated wall.
I took baseWaveFlume from IHFoam tutorial and add RAS turbulence model files from CR35_DamBreak tutorial because original waveFlume case was linear. It works w/o any warnings or errors but after sim finished when you watch it with paraFoam, you easly see that waves are severly flattened at the middle of the flume and near 15 second mark water level nearly becomes standing still. I couldn't find the problem if you can help me i would be very happy as 15th of April is my deadline. I'm adding my case file and i will be very happy to answer any question. Thank you in advance |

Hi Cagkan,
several errors here: waves generated with Cnoidal out of its application range, waves break close to generation and later again because of that and triggers turbulence buildup (check nut). Best, Pablo Last edited by Phicau; March 6, 2016 at 03:31. |

Hi Pablo,
I don't have a nut file where should I check for errors? What are the cnoidal wave app. ranges? Sorry I'm very new to all of this |
