Hi, I have an urgent problem with multiregion mesh and cyclicAMI. Basically the problem is, that I have a 60 degree slice of electric motor, which has two different materials. I created two mesh regions for the different materials in order to specify different thermalProperties, but now cyclic_ami1 and cyclic_ami2 cannot be linked because they are in different mesh regions. So, my questions are:

1. Is it at all possible in OpenFOAM with AMI to use neighbourPatches from different mesh regions? If it is, then how?

2. Is it possible to specify different thermalProperties inside the same mesh region fe for a cellZone?

Please see the attached picture and the boundary files.

So the information I've been able to find this far suggests that this it not possible to solve at the moment. The bug report http://www.openfoam.org/mantisbt/view.php?id=1121 quite directly states that this is not possible with boundary type cyclicAMI.

Well other possibilities? I though that mappedWall could be used but seems that it won't work either, because there is no support for translations with nearestPatchFaceAMI, there is an open bug report for this here http://www.openfoam.org/mantisbt/view.php?id=1211.

So how about setting the material properties, that information I haven't found yet..

Have you gotten any further ahead with this? It seems that I am working on a similar problem where I want the temperature in two regions coupled by using a cycling boundary condition.
