Hello everyone,
I am trying to simulate a 2D premixed combustion reaction to study the flame using the solver XiFoam. In my case, I have an inlet jet of 20mm X 100mm which opens up in a slot of 200mm X 800mm, with the slot being the combustor. I am trying to model a case in which a fuel mixture comes from the inlet and is ignited at the jet exit (i.e. when it enters the combustor chamber). For that I set the value of b as 1 at the inlet and b as 0 in the rest of the domain and specified an inlet velocity and after sometime ignite the flow. This seems to me the only approach. However I have read in the forum that this might not be the right approach as I am creating an infinite gradient of b, which would mean that the reaction rate is infinite in an infinitesimal region. Any comments on this? If I should change my approach, then what else should I try? Thanks for your time, Naman. |
