actuationDiskSource

I might be opening up a closed topic, but I couldn't find any information about this issue concerning OF version 3.0.x

When I use the fvOption actuationDiskSource, the solution converges after 1000 time steps, but in post processing, the calculated pressure forces (forceCoeffs) do still vary, although I am simulating a steady state case.

As far as I have understood, the model of actuator disks is used for steady state computations, so why is that happening?

Have read in other threads that there was a force issue with the rotorDisk function (calculating cylindrical forces etc), that has been modified in the latest version, does that also applied to the actuationdisksource?

Am grateful for anyone who knows more about this!

hi, your post was a long time ago but you have said "the model of actuator disks is used for steady state computations". does that mean it can not be used with a transient solver like pimpleFoam?
