I have tried to run OF 1606+ on a windows machine with a Xenon E5-2687W processor in parallel processing mode. I have run the cyclone example and the test case described here:
http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/hpc...d-Opteron-587/ Everything works as it should - directories are created for each core called out in decomposeParaDict and output is stored at each time step. However, the performance monitor in Task Manager shows only one core being used at a time. I am using a command like: mpiexec -np 4 icoFoam -parallel to initiate the run. What might be going on? Thanks |

It turns out that there is a setting in VirtualBox that defines the maximum number of processors it uses. When I increased this to 8, I was able to simulate using all 8 cores.
