Dear all,
I am a beginner in CFD and OpenFoam. I had a question regarding the chtMultiRegionFoam solver, it is stated in the documentation that it is combination of heatConductionFoam and buoyantFoam. Does this mean that it does not solve forced convection conjugate heat problems? Thanks in advance. Kind regards |

You can solve those problems with this solver.
It does however not use the Boussinesq approximation. You can disable compressibility in your thermoPhysical Properties though. You can hence solve compressible, uncompressible, forced and natural convection with this solver. Not using the Boussinesq approximation might demand a bit more computation time or make it less stable, but not less accurate. |
