Good day. I am currently using Openfoam 5.0, and I've already done some simple simulations using simpleFoam. Now I wanted to experiment my previous simulation by making it move forward (y-direction in my case), I've tried to search for other manuals, but i only found moving via rotation. The movingcone might be a good help, but it is only 2d. What will be the appropriate approach for this problem? Thank you for your kindness and consideration

Hello to the future.

The nasty answer could be: wait for the release of OpenFOAM v. 5.0, as it was not yet released.

The nicer version would be: It depends what size the movement would be. You can use the same approach as the cone tutorial, but your mesh deformation would destroy the solution fast and you would need to remesh. For smaller movement you can easily use 6DoF with linearMotion where you specify the area of mesh morphing to adopt the mesh to solid body movement. For more considerable movements, I would thing about moving the hole block of the mesh together with the solid body and employ AMI or ACMI on the interface.

hope this helps.

Good day. I'm sorry if I replied late. Anyways thank you for the info. I actually found an example of 6dof via wing motion. I'll try to implement the mechanisms to my model. I'll ask again soon whenever something happens. Thank you again
