go to opt/OpenFoam/tutorials and see if there is the solver you need. It is highly unlikely that if you have installed it properly, a solver would be missing.
open up your terminal and just write icoFoam. let me know what it says. |

Hi Alberto,
It seems your OpenFOAM is installed, because the icoFoam worked. The tutorials are located on $FOAM_TUTORIALS directory, so see the content of this environment variable in the terminal: echo $FOAM_TUTORIALS The porousInterFoam is not present in the OF4. This solvers is deprecated since OF version 3.0 and now you can use the interFoam with baffles or adding a porous source through the fvOptions. Take a look on the tutorials/multiphase/interFoam/ras/damBreakPorousBaffle/ tutorial. Best regards, Jovani Obs.: Seems you are running OpenFOAM as root user (root@dui-P45VA:/home/dui#): this is really bad. It is better to run as a normal user, just a hint... |

thank u so much! i was trying to do a tutorial that i found in internet.
im starting to use OF, bucause in my thesis project i have to simulate a nitrogen flow in a pipe with a certain temperature distribution, whit a porous sample in the middle, and one part of the flow throught the sample and the other surrounds the sample. if you have any idea of what solver can help me or information, would be awesome. if its no tu much ask. |
