Hello all,
I am a newbie to OpenFOAM. I currently struggling for the replication of lid driven cavity.
I tried to replicate the pictures that showed on one paper using 1st order time discretization and 2nd order for the rest discretization in N-S equation. The illustration was supposed to have two vortexes at bottom-right of the 1x1 cavity model at Re=10000(the expected illustration is attached below). However, in my layout with openfoam, there was just one vortex exist at the bottom-right with sufficient running time.
I utilized the icoFoam package and increased the mesh size with 601x601 which I think is sufficient to the 1x1 model. But the result is not satisfied.
Bearing in mind that many people use this 1x1 cavity to test the code. I think it is easy to be replicated. Can anyone please give me some suggestion in my case?

I’d appreciate any help!

It seems like I misunderstood the concept between laminar-turbulent and steady-transient. Additionally, chose pisoFoam instead of icoFoam, it works. But to calculate the fine grid, it will take time to see the final illustrations.
