Porosity Term in Momentum Equation

1 Attachment(s)
I am trying to simulate flow in porous media. There are porous solvers by default in OF, I agree, but they are not using porosity term in the Ueqn like the one shown in the attachment.

So should I create a scalarField and then declare it dimensionless in 0 folder? I have set different values for it by using setFields option -- 1 in fluid and porosity value in porous region.

Is there any necessity to do it or can I just go with the explicitPorositySource?

Thank you in advance.

Peace!

Dear anirudh,

i have few queries regarding porosity setting
1.How to set different porosity values (1 for fluid and 0<porosity<1 for porous zone)

2. where to define these values and how solver will read the values ( i mean do i need to define in create fields??)

thanks in advance
