Compilation error for OpenFoam FSI solver with third party FEA code

1 Attachment(s)
Hello All,

I had a concern regarding compilation of the OpenFoam FSI solver with a third party FEA code (e.g. CalculiX) as described by Dr. Robert Campbell in the 6th OpenFoam workshop (http://www.personal.psu.edu/dab143/O...ell_slides.pdf). I downloaded and copied the related code to the run folder and attempted to compile the solver using the wmake command. However, I received compilation errors (see attached text file). I am not sure whether the errors are associated with the version of openfoam that I am using (foam-extend 3.1). I was also wondering whether I could get some tips on replacing the fictitious structural class included in the code with a FE solver input file for the FSI problem.

Thanks

Any improvements?

Hi,

I also looked at the code and the test case of training session by Dr. Campbell although I have not compiled it on my computer. And now I am also wondering how to couple OpenFOAM with third party structural solver via his skeleton class...

Another thing I noticed is in his test case, he used fixedValue boundary condition for the plate. In my opinion, we are supposed to use movingWallVelocity BC. Actually, I tried ElmerFoamFSI code. In this code, I could run the tutorial HronTurek FSI3 case well if I use fixedValue BC for the plate. However, if I use movingWallVelocity BC, it simply diverges and crashed after, say, 4 time steps.

Could you please share any new knowledge about this?:D
