Dear All,
I am writing to ask you a general question about OpenFOAM solvers. I have a X-shaped channel: from inlet-1 air enters; from inlet-2 a different gas mixtures enters. I am sure I do not have any chemical reaction. What I would like to study is the species-transport and - above all - the concentration (and distribution) of O_2 on the outlets. Do you have any suggestion? Which is the right solver? Do you know if there is a tutorial solved? |

Hi, you can use reactingFoam with the reactions turned off for species mixing.
Just follow one of the original tutorials and get it to run without reacting. Tom |

That's great.
Thanks a lot Tom. I am gonna investigate this solver. Thanks a lot, Samuele |

Hey Tom,
I was thinking.. ..does this solution work with liquids, also? Thanks a lot, Samuele |

Hi,
Probably not, liquid-liquid mixing is different from gas-gas mixing. It depends on the solubility of the liquids. Think about oil in water or alcohol in water. I guess you need either interFoam or twoLiquidMixingFoam or maybe interMixingFoam, or perhaps even twoPhaseEulerFoam. Regards, Tom |
